Position: Director of Medical Research & Informatics
The Director of Medical Research & Informatics oversees Procured’s device research activities and data asset.  He or she will play a principal role in shaping Procured’s medical device research process, work to deliver a comprehensive representation of data for hospital administrators and physicians, and build a team of analysts and product specialists to support such activities.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Understand information requirements of hospital purchasing departments and clinicians across a broad set of physician preference items and medical-surgical products
  • Leverage clinical evidence and academic studies to deliver comparative effectiveness insights to decision makers at hospitals
  • Design product classification structure to support head-to-head comparison
  • Define automation rules and processes and standards for accurate and consistent reporting
  • Oversee device research and quality assurance processes and a team of device analysts and specialists
  • Build team of researchers through creative recruitment and insightful evaluation

Qualifications

  • Graduate level degree in medicine (MD) or biomedical engineering (PhD preferred) 
  • 3+ years work experience practicing medicine or in a managerial role at a medical technology or SaaS company
  • Familiarity in analyzing clinical research methodologies and synthesizing results
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of medical products, ideally in context of product R&D, value analysis, or strategic sourcing
  • Familiarity with relational databases.  Working knowledge of SQL and software programming skills preferred.
  • Experience building and managing a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented and thorough
